Summary
Operating time range for Pneumatic Timing Modules CZE7 and CZA7
Question
Why does the set time not correspond with the scale range printed on Pneumatic Timing Modules CZE7 and CZA7?
What is the recommended procedure to set on or off delay times when using the CZE7 and CZA7 Pneumatic Timing Modules with CA7 or CS7 products?
Environment
- CS7, CS7-M, CS7-B control relays
- CA7, CAU7 contactors
Answer
The scale printed on the top cover of Pneumatic Timing Modules is a confirmed operating time range for these devices. It means that the product will operate within this time range, however the maximum time of switching can be longer than the maximum scale value printed on the cover.
The printed scale serves as a time setting aid but does not indicate the exact value of switching time.
Each adjustment operation of timing module requires the time verification to confirm if the set switching range corresponds with the expected time value.
Setting procedure, On-Delay Mode for the CZE7 Pneumatic Timing Modules
1. Attach the Timing module to the base device (relay or contactor).
2. Set the expected delay time.
3. Switch on the base device.
4. Let the delay time run out until the contacts of the timing module change the state - you can hear a “Click” when this occurs.
5. Switch off the base device (Reset).
6. If needed, set a different delay time, and start again at step 3.
Setting procedure, Off-Delay Mode for CZA7 Pneumatic Timing Modules
1. Attach the Timing module to the base device (relay or contactor).
2. Set the expected delay time.
3. Switch on the base device.
4. Switch off the base device.
5. Let the delay time run out until the contacts of the timing module change the state - you can hear a “Click” when this occurs.
6. Switch on the base device (Reset).
7. If needed, set a different delay time, and start again at step 4.
Note: Due to the general product design of Pneumatic Timing Modules, for applications where the precision or accuracy of the switching device is an expectation it is recommended to use the solid-state timing modules attachments.
